Organization & Financial Peace

In today’s world, as we all move so quickly, working to tackle the days to do list, we
often put off certain things that feel too overwhelming. For many, finances fall into that
category and get recycled onto tomorrows to do list.
There is a level of stress that comes from putting off financial organization. Regardless
of our relationship with money or even how many dollars or assets we have, if our
finances are unorganized, it creates stress. Creating financial peace is possible and we
do not have to be perfect. The goal is to create clarity and minimize stress.
Financial disorganization will look different for everyone. Things like avoiding looking at
our financial statements or apps, leaving mail unopened, a pile of unorganized receipts
or not knowing logins for accounts. The “deal with it later” attitude creates stress
surrounding finances.
First and foremost, we need to understand where our money is going. What is going out
and what is coming in and when. This gives us clarity to make more informed decisions
about our money. Organization surrounding our finances creates a more predictable
and controlled situation. Which in turn reduces stress.
A great way to avoid clutter and financial disorganization is to create systems to stay on
track. One example is to set aside 15 minutes a day or even a one hour block once a
week to make sure that our documents, mail and bills are in order by staying on top of
bill payments and getting our receipts organized. This will help us avoid all these tasks
from piling up causing us to feel overwhelmed with no way to get ahead!
There are many digital products to help keep us organized and on track. Also, being
financially on track, does not require hours spent in front of the computer or hours spent
updating spreadsheets to get organized. Breaking this work down to a few small steps
each day and week can get us the financial peace we desperately deserve.
If you need help staying on track or keeping your personal or business expenses
organized, hiring a bookkeeper is a great option as well. Seeking professional help will
free up time and reduce stress leaving time to focus on more enjoyable things.
At Project Done, we pride ourselves in bringing financial peace to our clients. We work
with clients to come up with the best solution-based plan to ensure your finances are
organized!
